Elder abuse is a serious but preventable problem among nursing home residents as well as geriatric patients living alone or with family members. Whether abuse is physical, emotional, or financial, it can severely affect the victim. As elder abuse becomes more acknowledged, screening instruments have been put in place to stop and prevent elder abuse from continuing. In a recent study, elder abuse screening instruments were analyzed to determine which devices are most useful in specific circumstances.
