Management of Diabetes in the Elderly

Recent guidelines from the ADA and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) regarding glycemic management in patients with type 2 diabetes were presented at the ADA meeting last June. During an oral presentation, Silvio E. Inzucchi, MD, Section of Endocrinology, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT, and colleagues presented the new position statement of the ADA and the EASD, titled Management of Hyperglycemia in Type 2 Diabetes: A Patient-Centered Approach (Diabetes Care. 2012;35[6]:1364-1379).
